Giving and Receiving

One of the most powerful spiritual truths you can learn is that giving and receiving are in fact one and the same. When we give anything freely, the universe must return it in some way. This applies to love, peace, understanding and other intangible aspects of life. But it also applies to material things, such as money or resources.

When we feel lack often our natural response is to restrict giving as a form of protection. We may also feel anger or fear when it's time to pay taxes or bills.

This card is an invitation to change your mindset about giving and receiving so that you can bring greater abundance of anything you desire into your life. And the way to do this is to begin with giving.

As an example, if you wish to have greater peace of mind then close your eyes and for a few minutes think of yourself giving peace of mind to others. Say to yourself, "I give you peace of mind and what I give do I also receive." Feel free to substitute any other feeling you wish.

Now consider applying this to money. You're probably saying to yourself something like "well I don't have money to just give away." However, there are other ways to activate this giving. One is that every time you need to pay for something, do so with joy and say to yourself something along the lines of "I give you this money and what I give I also receive." You can visualize yourself giving greater quantities of money, buying a car, a house, whatever comes to mind. And use the same phrase "I'm purchasing this car / house with this money and what I give I must also receive."

Another strategy is to seek opportunities to do volunteer work or to give in one way or another. Even sharing on social media or via a blog with the intention of sharing useful knowledge can be a form of giving. But when you do so put a price on your time. For example, "I share my valuable knowledge and what I give must also be returned in the form of monetary payment."

There are many examples of people who began sharing and ended up being very successful. The YouTuber who recorded 100 videos before drawing a large audience. Other examples are people who have created blogs, podcasts, products and services. Where there is giving, the Universe will respond.
