Back to the origin to heal: a journey of soul, blood and memory
Published March 29, 2017

We often hear that to understand our present we must go back to the origin. But what does that really mean? For me, going back to my roots was not a nice phrase... it was a profoundly transformative act. It was sitting in front of the mirror of the soul and asking myself: where do I come from? who am I when no one sees me?
This text is born from an intimate, honest and deeply human place. I write it not only as a therapist, but as a woman who has walked the path of healing with the ancestors. And today I share my story with you, with my heart in my hand, because perhaps it is also a reflection of yours.
Coming home: my story
Although I have been researching my family history for more than a decade, it was during a recent Christmas when my soul understood something profound: I needed to return, not only geographically, but emotionally and spiritually, to my home of origin, to that space where my life, my wounds... and also my strength were born.
To return was to open the door not only to a house, but to a hidden chapter of my history. It was to sit with my parents and siblings, with the cold of Bogota caressing the windows, and let the past speak.
Between laughter, silences and anecdotes, the pieces of the great puzzle began to fit together. Question after question, memories that had been dormant emerged. Not only mine. Theirs, too. Because when one person heals in the family system, the healing echo is activated for everyone.
And then it happened: my mother - in a warm, trembling, loving voice - began to narrate the moment of my birth... a moment where, medically, one of us was not going to survive. Listening to her was like being consciously born again, but this time from love, not from trauma. Her every word was a bridge between life and death, between fear and light.
👣 To heal is to remember... with an awakened soul.
What started as a family breakfast turned into a collective healing ritual. The hot chocolate, the black and white photos, the smells of home, the touch of the hands that raised me... everything spoke to me of that little girl I was, of that woman I am today. And at that moment, I returned to my roots with gratitude.
I spent days reconnecting with the land where I was born, caressing forgotten albums, listening to the whispers of lineage through objects, through memories. And I understood something essential: to build a free present, I need to reconcile myself with the past that inhabits me.
Why look at the past? Because therein lies the key to your present
To heal the family tree is not to rummage around out of curiosity. It's honoring the history that brought you here. It's acknowledging those who came before, even when their choices were painful. It's understanding why you repeat patterns in your relationships, why you feel you don't deserve love, abundance or health.
💭 If you feel like you always repeat the same thing....
💔 If in your family there were losses, secrets, infidelities, premature deaths...
👧🏻 If you carry the wound of the inner child that was not seen...
🧬 If there are emotions that you don't know where they come from...
Then your soul is asking you to return. Not to stay, but to free yourself.
💌 Thank you for reading me. Thank you for joining me in this little piece of my story.
Today, from this place of greater understanding, I join you if you are ready to begin your own journey back to the source. Because you don't have to do it alone. Because I've been there too, and I know that on the other side there is relief, clarity... and a new beginning.
